It allows you to not only naturally style Coily, Curly and Textured Hair, but also detangle, nourish, and increase hair strength and shine. It’s packed with pure ingredients, such as Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein, Neem Seed Oil and Silk Protein, which contain fatty acids and other nutrients to nourish scalp, lock in moisture and protect hair.

Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein is particularly excellent for low porosity hair, like curly hair, which has trouble absorbing moisture and proteins that have large molecular structures. Getting the right balance of moisture and protein results in curls that are softer, bouncier, full of volume, and easier to style and manage. Finish off your hair routine by applying generous amounts of our fragrance-free Hair Growth Souffle from root to ends of hair to finger-curl coily and curly styles.

Silk Protein: Has a molecular structure similar to the collagen fibers found in your hair, allowing it to easily bond with the keratin in hair and strengthen hair that has been damaged. This bond keeps moisture from escaping, while also adding incredible shine to your hair.

Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein: Like silk protein, hydrolyzed wheat protein’s permeability is excellent for low porosity hair. Its ability to lock in moisture is unprecedented, allowing it to quickly hydrate curls.

Neem Seed Oil: Contains several fatty acids, such as oleic acid, linoleic acid and stearic acid, which nourishes the scalp and hair, stimulates hair growth and prevents hair loss.

As a black girl growing up in the eighties, I didn’t really have a choice but to be baptized in the chemical laden, permanent, hair altering process of “getting a perm” aka getting a relaxer. After receiving a health scare, I decided to radically change my diet. It wasn’t long after, that my clean lifestyle focused on my skin and body care. My desire to get off the “creamy crack” hair train that I was on since I was 8 years old, led me to throw out every store-bought product I had and start making my own concoctions.

This is why Janelle Beauty has always formulated our products without sulfates, parabens, formaldehyde, phthalates, petrolatum, mineral oil, silicones, synthetic fragrances, and dyes.Long before this became a “thing”.

It is said that necessity is the mother of invention and that is exactly what led to the conception of Janelle Beauty. It was not in my life plan to start a beauty company. It was not even a thought on my mind. It was born out of necessity and a gap in the market for the products I needed.

My life was interrupted by an ailment that led me on a journey to health and wholeness. That journey led to a new world of beauty products that quickly got complicated when my focus turned to my hair.

As a woman of color, finding the right products that were both efficacious and of high-quality was no easy feat. However, I was determined to get what I needed even if it meant creating it myself. And that in a nutshell, was how Janelle Beauty was born.
